You Can Export programme kicks off with Birmingham workshop

The first You Can Export workshop in a series of five has been declared a resounding success after 11 businesses from across the region took part.

The informative Export Essentials workshop took participants through the process of exporting, covering key topics such as developing international sales channels, maximising sales growth, routes to market, and shipping and documentation.

The event, at KPMG offices at Snowhill, Birmingham, was led by Christine Hancock, international trade adviser, and Gerti Willis, communication and culture advisyoucan 1er.

Louise Boyling, director of Create The Space, praised the workshop, saying: “First of all, Anne and I both felt that the session yesterday was very informative and productive – I particularly found your session fascinating.  Lots to learn but we are up for it!”

Rachel Hoyle, of Hoyle Ceramics, added: “Many thanks to you and Gerti for providing an excellent overview of all important areas to consider when exporting. I found it all very useful, and helped me realise that starting small and taking it step by step is prudent and that doing your homework is important in getting it right. Your guidance is appreciated.”

The next event in Birmingham takes place on Wednesday, January 31, when the topic under discussion will be market research and selection.

Future workshops will focus on: routes to market, export pricing and improving your digital presence.
